Red Cedar Canyon Townhouses

Dear Red Cedar Canyon Townhome Association Owners,

The Board of Directors held a meeting on May 28th to finalize the
landscape bed issue. They unanimously voted to approve the elimination
of the mulch and the introduction of river rock in all the landscape
beds bordering the buildings.  The Minutes that capture this vote will
be sent to all owners by the end of this week.  The project will be
completed in three stages.  The first third of the units to receive the
rock will be 189 - 263 West Canyon Drive.  This will be completed this
summer.  The next third to be completed in 2027 will be 113 Deerwood
Court - 181 West Canyon Drive. The final third of 37 – 111 Deerwood
Court will be completed in 2028.

I want to stress the Board of Directors spent many hours investigating
the benefits versus the negatives on this transition. The reasons they
strongly believe this project is necessary are as follows. Cost savings
of approximately $450-K over the next 20 years. maintaining uniformity
which is a hallmark of the Association, ease of maintenance, and overall
aesthetic.  They are not allowing for any units to “opt out” of this
project.  The reasons they did not allow this were many.  The main
reasons were conformity.  This is part of why the Association is the
premium Association in Western Wisconsin.  The second reason is
tracking.  It is extremely difficult for any Association to monitor and
track multiple non- conforming units into the future.

Prior to the transition of the first third, there will be a mass email
and posting to inform the owners of the start date.  This will also
serve as a reminder to dig up any flowers to help ensure they do not get
damaged.  After the rocks are installed, you will be able to plant the
flowers back in the landscape beds.  The shrubs are hardy and do not
need to be dug up and potted.
